Brady's First Day of School!

Roughly 2 years ago, I decided to quit my job to become a stay at home mama.  Brady hasn't been a part of mother's day out or any sort of day care / preschool program.  I am accustomed to having him with me 24/7 (which probably suits me 23/7).  Having my little man start a 5-day a week Pre-K / Bridge program is kind of a big deal for us.

Brady is SO much like Taylor.  We've been trying to get him excited about going to school today.  I woke him up, and the first thing I said to him was something about starting school today.  After breakfast, we had a conversation like this:

Brady: What are we going to do today, mom?
Me: Brady, where do you think we're going?
Brady: I dunno.
Me: Keep thinking about it.
Brady: Are we going to a party?
Me: No silly, you're going to school!
Brady: Oh yeah, Mom, I forgot. <while giggling>

Anna Belle had to take a picture with Brady too.  She also had to bring her bag in to the school to drop Brady off.  Her bag is full of clothes and panties, because we're potty training.  Brady loves to wink at the camera!

I dropped Brady off, and he did really great.  He put his backpack away in the right spot, found his name at the table, and started coloring.  I'm so proud of my little man.

Funny Guy

Brady has been really funny lately, so I thought I'd share a few things...

Last night, I sat down to watch some alphabet cartoon with Brady.  He fidgeted a lot before getting comfortable in my lap.  He was there for about 3 minutes when he looked back at me and sweetly said, "I love tooting on you, Mom."

This led to a brief tickle attack, and when he caught his breath from the laughter, he said, "That didn't even tickle."  Who is this funny, smarty pants kid?  I feel like he's just taken a little leap into being a big kid.

Tomorrow Brady starts 5-day a week Bridge class (Pre-K for older kids).  Brady was really uninterested in most of the presentation at Open House about where to put backpacks, lunch boxes, class materials, etc.  I thought he wasn't listening until the teacher said that in this class there's lunch time, but no snack time.  Brady broke the silence in the room to exclaim, "No snack?!"

Enough for now... I should be taking "First Day of School" pics of Brady tomorrow.  Maybe I'll get back on the blogging bandwagon.

Shiver Me Timbers

Brady's 5th birthday was August 1st, but we're just now getting around to hosting his birthday parties.  We had a pirate theme this year.  Check out the watermelon pirate ship Taylor made!

We checked weather reports all week and a lot today.  We got a light sprinkle, but no real rain (phew!).

Brady was SO excited about today.  He woke up saying, "It's my lucky day!"  We went to see Planes and he said, "I love it a lot."  He said the same thing about his party, when I was putting him in dry clothes (right before his friends left).  He was so sincerely excited about having his friends over.

I LOVE this picture of James!

Getting the perfect shot is tough.  I took 16 pictures in this pose, and these were the best.  The kids had fun.  They spent most of the party tossing the gold doubloons into the pool and collecting them.

Sorry Reagan - we don't understand what personal space is...

I don't know why my pictures never come out chronologically, but here are a few pics of the buffet table.

Taylor has golf tomorrow morning and then we're having the family over for dinner.  Can't wait for round two!
